11 song demo; "Umbra - In Your Hands". This is a disc of original songs written and performed by Greg Bullock, playing keyboards, bass, and guitar. And, doing his best to sing the vocals ... this is a demo of songs, not a singer. Recorded in GABWorx, Studio B, you will find a mass of ideas throughout the disc, that will evoke gray matter intrigue and conceptual light. A fine collection of unconventional song-writing.

   About Umbra
Formerly the keyboardist for the bands RealEyes, Uncle Salty and Shaman, as well as having had some exceptional music industry experiences over the past 30 years. Greg has worked as a lighting designer, and production manager, for concerts/festivals, TV sports and major corporate events. He has toured worldwide with platinum selling, grammy winning artists, (Boyz II Men, Journey, Hootie and the Blowfish, Spin Doctors, Al DiMeola, George Clinton and P-Funk, Erika Badu, Bela Fleck and The Flecktones, John Hiatt), beginning as a lighting crew member, and later as a lighting director.

Today, Greg is president of GPS, Inc. (www.gpsincorporated.com), an event and production management company, and GABWorx, llc. (www.gabworx.com), an artist management company. As of 2007, Greg has semi-retired from touring, and now focuses much of his business life working in production and artist management, writing and performing original music, and locally in the concert and festival industry. Greg also works frequently as a "high steel" arena rigger for the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees.

As an artist himself, Greg has been on an expedition of conceptual exploration for more than 3 decades. He has released four self-published books of poetry, two of which contain his original photography. Four projects of recorded music ... two with the band RealEyes, one which included a book of poetry, and additionally, Greg released two self-produced music releases as Umbra in the early 1990's. The December 2006 release of "In Your Hands...", Gregs most ambitious Umbra release, is his fifth solo project ... containing a booklet and a music project, adding to this artists resume'.

Greg is Umbra, as a solo artist, but don't be surprised if some Umbra music might spin off into the musical landscape, and take a new shape and form in some other project Greg may be involved in. Check back regularly, as this www.umbramusic.net page is updated often.

Recently, Greg has done work in the studio for "Dembiak" and "Area Gray", as well as, developing new material for his "Umbra" projects. Most recently, Greg is beginning a collaboration with accomplished NYC Producer/Musician Zef Noise. Look for this project to be something of an experimental nature, featuring the works of Zef and Umbra ... who knows what these two will spill out of the pipeline. Stay tuned.

Nice work, Greg! The new stuff is cool. I've said this before, and I'm not sure if you hate this comparison(!), but, some of your stuff reminds me (in a good way) of Albert Bouchard of Blue Oyster Cult - your vocals, themes, chord structures, etc... I'm a huge BOC fan - so I mean that as a compliment! I also hear a little Tony Banks here & there... of course, Tony is 'god', so nothing wrong there! haha. I really liked the solo synth sound on Beyond Me around 3:40. :-)

I use comparisons for my own music as a point of reference... so, that's not implied to be unoriginal on your part!... just a point of reference. :)

Keep the muse alive. :)
